Employee Telecommuting From Home

As part of the company’s efforts to protect the health and safety of our employees in light of the COVID-19 crisis, effective March 18, Spirit AeroSystems will begin allowing employees who are not required to be on-site, to telecommute until further notice. This temporary telecommuting arrangement is effective immediately and supersedes current Spirit telecommuting policies and procedures. The purpose of this new, temporary policy is to limit employee exposure to illness in the workplace.

If you have been identified as an eligible recipient for telecommute/virtual work, please refer to the following online meeting etiquette guidelines.

Setting Yourself Up for Success

Consider your workspace. Set yourself up for success in a place where you can focus on the tasks at hand, with the equipment and internet connection you need.

Work/home life balance. Have strict work times to maintain a work/life balance. Talk to your manager to set expectations for when you are online and available. Make time to step away and take a break.

Virtual meetings. When considering your workspace be aware of visual and sound distractions. With an increased volume of people working remote, logging into Skype meetings may take longer than expected.

Stay connected and communicate with your teammates. If you have a webcam, turn on your video. In addition to regular meetings, schedule time to just catch up and check in.
