5-Axis Machining

​Spirit AeroSystems’ 5-axis center of excellence in Wichita, Kan., focuses on large, complex, soft metal parts for fuselage, pylon and wing structures, all built on high-tech, high-speed, latest-generation equipment.

Chemical Processing

​Along with 5-axis machining, the Wichita site includes a center for excellence dedicated to chemical processing, a unique area of expertise among tier-one manufacturers. The site features one of the world’s largest automated processing lines.

Composite Fabrication

​Spirit has grown its capabilities in composite manufacturing from nacelles to complete fuselages. This full-spectrum offering, including fabrication of both metallic and composite structures, opens doors of opportunity for current and future customers.

3- and 4-Axis Machining

McAlester, Okla., is the site of Spirit’s center of excellence for 3- and 4-axis machining. Here, the focus is on fabricating small- to medium-sized parts for both commercial and military aircraft.
