COVID-19 Giving

If you have the resources and would like to donate relief efforts, here are some organizations helping in our communities around the globe.

The United Way funds local basic needs, financial and health assistance programs and in some places is providing job-seeking assistance for the unemployed. Funds will be distributed to the site you select when donating.

Feeding America is a network of local food banks who are providing food for those in our communities who are food insecure. Funds will be distributed to your local food bank.

The International and American Red Cross provides emergency services and facilitates critical blood donation. Funds will be designated to COVID-19 relief work.

Thanks to the many who gave blood and scheduled upcoming appointments, the American Red Cross has been able to meet immediate patient needs. There remains an ongoing need for platelet donations due to their short, five-day shelf life.

During this uncertain time, we encourage individuals to keep scheduled blood donation appointments and to make new blood donation appointments for the weeks ahead to ensure a stable supply throughout this pandemic. This is the time to take care of one another. If you are healthy and feeling well, please make an appointment to donate mid-April and after by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Face Shield Frames: If employees have a 3D printer at home, you can print face shield frames from PLA or ABS material. Print files can be found here. Completed frames can be taken to the John Bardo Building on WSU Campus.

Fabric Face Masks: If employees are interested in volunteering to help produce cloth facemasks with the GoCreate Covid-19 project, they can call GoCreate at 316-978-5703 for information on how to volunteer or where help is needed.
