Good Neighbor Fund
Spirit employees in the U.S. are empowered to give back locally through the Good Neighbor Fund, a nonprofit organization funded through voluntary employee donations. The Fund is governed by an employee-elected board of directors for their local markets, primarily focusing on health and human services organizations.
The Good Neighbor Fund considers contributions to organizations that:
- Are registered as a nonprofit that comply with local tax laws
- Demonstrate leadership, evidence of impact, financial soundness and the capacity to implement initiatives and evaluate their success
- Have clear objectives, indicators of success and a plan to measure and report on the outcomes
- Provide opportunities to collaborate with others working to solve local issues
- Provide services in health and human services focus area
Good Neighbor Fund typically does not support:
- Organizations without 501(c)3 status
- Capital campaigns/capital expenditures and endowment campaigns
- General operational support
- Medical research
- Individuals or individual needs
- Travel, advertising, or publications
- Sponsorship, fundraising or special events (walks, runs, galas, etc.)
