Household Hazardous Waste Day

Spirit’s Wichita facility partnered with the Sedgwick County Department of Health to host a remote location for Spirit employees and members of the community to drop off Household Hazardous Waste for free on October 17, 2020. This gave a great opportunity for people around our Wichita facility to clean out the garage, shed, or storage room of potentially dangerous chemicals, and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way. 

Leftover household products can be corrosive, toxic, catch fire, react or explode under certain circumstances, which create unsafe conditions in the home and can be particularly harmful to children and pets.  Spirit was grateful for the opportunity to help eliminate these environmental and safety risks in our community.
