College Internships Available
Spirit AeroSystems’ college internships are designed to develop real-world skills beyond aerospace assembly and manufacturing. In addition to technical skills, students are assigned a mentor who helps participants learn soft skills, such as navigating the corporate environment. One of the hallmarks of the Spirit college internship experience is the access interns receive to Spirit’s executive leadership team and the opportunity to not only take part in but also to lead key Spirit projects. The program also includes tours of factory sites and community activities.
Participants receive training within the Spirit departments that most closely match the intended career tracks, including:
- Environmental, Health and Safety
- Research and Development
- Human Resources

- Supply Chain Management
Ideal candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Be enrolled in a full-time academic program at an accredited college or university

High School Manufacturing Program
Each year Spirit AeroSystems offers high school students the opportunity to catch a vision of what modern aerospace manufacturing is all about.
Students in this paid program receive practical and applicable insight into sheet metal and composites manufacturing, machining, tools and processes. Upon completion of the program, qualified high-performing students may be invited to participate in the program again or start a full-time position with Spirit upon graduating high school.
High School internships for 16-19 year olds offer the chance to learn about Spirit's wide-ranging capabilities and innovative manufacturing processes. Significant opportunities are available to students who choose to pursue a career in aerospace manufacturing.
