Spirit AeroSystems Statement on Kansas Budget Proposal
WICHITA, Kan., Jan. 10, 2018 – Spirit AeroSystems issued the following statement after the release of the governor’s fiscal year 2019 budget proposal for the state of Kansas.
“The proposed funding increase for research and technical training are key components in Spirit’s ability to stay on the cutting edge of technology and fill the talent pipeline with thousands of skilled workers the aviation industry needs today and for the foreseeable future,” said Spirit President and CEO Tom Gentile. “Gov. Brownback and Lt. Gov. Colyer listened to our concerns and have responded quickly and decisively, taking this bold step to ensure the aerospace industry in Kansas continues to grow and prosper. The proposed funding initiatives are great examples of the state working with the private sector to improve our global competitiveness. We look forward to working with the legislature to fully fund these proposals.”
