Spirit AeroSystems statement on employee injury in Wichita, Kan.

Spirit AeroSystems released the following statement regarding an employee injury at its facility in Wichita, Kan.:

12:00 p.m., July 11 Update:
"Spirit takes the health and safety of our employees very seriously, that’s where our primary focus is today. We began the day by pausing to talk about safety with our employees, and we are continuing to investigate last night’s incident."


10:43 p.m., July 10 Update:
"We did unfortunately experience an injury on the shop floor at Spirit tonight. Just after 9:00 PM, Spirit and Sedgwick County emergency services responded to a report of an employee caught between some machinery. The employee sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

"Spirit takes the safety of our employees very seriously, and we have begun investigating the incident. We do not have any additional information at this time."
