Ingredients (please include quantities/weights)
- 11 cups chicken broth
- 1 package (24 ounce) Homestyle Egg Noodles
- 1/2 teaspoon herbs de Provence, dried
- 2 cups onion, chopped
- 2 cups carrots, chopped
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 cups heavy cream or half and half
- 2 cups celery, chopped
- 8 tablespoons butter
- 1 pound chicken, precooked, boneless and skinless
Instructions/Steps
Bring chicken broth to a boil.
Add frozen noodles and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir often (especially the bottom of the pan).
Chop onions, celery and carrots.
Add chopped vegetables and herbs de Provence to pot and simmer for 10 minutes or until done.
Meanwhile, melt butter in a skillet. Add the flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
Add cream to the noodle mixture. Bring back to a good simmer. Add the flour mixture; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes.
Add the chicken.
Stir to incorporate, heat through and serve.
Preparation Tips / Special Notes
Serve over mashed potatoes or with a side of bread or corn bread.
