WICHITA EMPLOYEESArkansas River Clean-Up - May 6

Spirit AeroSystems is proud to partner with the City of Wichita, Kansas Alliance for Wetlands & Streams (KAWS), Cargill Cares, Meritrust, and numerous other local sponsors for the annual Ark River Clean-Up on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. 

All employees, family, and friends are invited to help clean up debris along the Arkansas River. Volunteers will receive t-shirt and free lunch (while supplies last). Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at 151 N. Waco, in the parking lot at 1st and Waco.

WICHITA EMPLOYEESMakeICT Work Day - May 13

MakeICT needs volunteers to help clear weeds out of their community garden space. Click here to sign up to volunteer on Saturday, May 13 from 9-11 a.m. Children are welcome to volunteer as long as they are old enough to help and are with an adult. Produce from the garden is donated to area community fridges.

WICHITA EMPLOYEESWalk with Wildlife - May 20

In partnership with the Great Plains Nature Center (GPNC), Spirit is sponsoring Walk with Wildlife at the Great Plains Nature Center. Volunteers are needed for parking, concessions and to assist with other tasks. Family and friends are welcome to volunteer. Children must be at least 10 years to volunteer. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers.

The event will have activities for families, youth groups, photographers, and wildlife enthusiasts. Spirit employees can attend for free by showing their Spirit badge.

Wichita State is hosting the 2023 Science Olympiad National Tournament on Saturday, May 20. Students from all 50 states will be competing.

WICHITA EMPLOYEESTeam Spirit at River Run - June 3

Team Spirit will be participating in the 47th annual River Run on Saturday, June 3. To find out more information about the race and how to register, click here. When registering, choose to join the corporate team for Team Spirit. Participants are responsible for registration cost. 

Team Spirit running shirts will be provided to team members while supplies last. If you have already registered for the race and want to join Team Spirit, please contact GRP Community Affairs.

WICHITA EMPLOYEES: Victory in the Valley Workday – April 29

Team Spirit is seeking volunteers for a workday with Victory in the Valley, a local nonprofit that provides support for cancer patients, survivors and their families. Volunteers will assist with various tasks from spring cleaning to yard work. Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and basic gardening tools if available.

WICHITA EMPLOYEES: Volunteers for Spring Prairie Fire Race – May 7

Team Spirit is rallying volunteers for the spring Prairie Fire Race in Wichita. Volunteers will help staff and replenish Spirit’s water station to hydrate runners and cheer them on. Friends and family are welcome to participate as volunteers. Children are welcome as long as they are with a parent and old enough to be helpful. To learn more, click the sign-up link. WICHITA EMPLOYEES: Free Wichita Sky Kings Tickets – April 21 & 22

The Wichita Sky Kings, a first-year professional TBL basketball team that plays its home games at Charles Koch Arena, is offering free tickets to Spirit AeroSystems employees and their guests for the Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 games.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling will be on hand for a pre-game meet-and-greet at Friday's game.

Pre-game and half-time activities include special giveaways and themed entertainment designed to make each game fun for the entire family. Check wichitaskykings.com for more information.

On game day, simply go to the will call window at the Shocker Athletic Department Ticket Office, show your Spirit badge and tell them how many tickets you need. Doors open at 6 p.m. and tip-off time is 7 p.m. for the Friday and Saturday night games.

As a reminder, only clear bags are allowed in the facility in accordance with WSU's bag policy.

WICHITA EMPLOYEES: Kansas Aviation Museum – 50% Discount on select weekends

Kansas Aviation Museum is offering Spirit employees and their guests a 50% discount on Saturdays & Sunday from May 7 – June 4. The museum is closed May 6 & 27. Employees simply need to show their badge when purchasing admission.
