Factory Supports Vic McMullen Memorial Toy Run

One of the most popular employee-led traditions is the annual Toy Run, which is heavily supported in the Wichita factory. The donations from Toy Run benefit The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.

The Vic McMullen Memorial Toy Run is held as part of Spirit of the Season. It is named for Spirit’s longtime director of operations, who passed away in 2020 after a courageous battle against cancer. Vic started the Toy Run several years ago at Spirit, which includes a parade of motorcycles riding through our campus.

Vic was an active member of our community who was involved in many charitable causes, and he was particularly active with The Salvation Army, which helps many people in need in our communities, especially around the holidays. This year, more people than ever are in need as we struggle against higher inflation.

In 2022, employees donated over $3,000 and a vanload of toys. Additionally, we saw a record number of parade participants at 90 motorcycles. The employees who participate get the unique thrill of riding their bikes and trikes through the Spirit campus and even a few buildings, spreading joy as they go.
