Focus on SAP
Aftermarket Implementation Team
Change is good! Spirit AeroSystems is in the process of implementing SAP software for our production, finance and business applications. Internally we have been working on assuring this is a smooth transition for quite some time and we’ll be making our first shipments in the new system in April of this year.
This change should be mostly invisible to our Aftermarket customers, but there will be a change in the format of some of the paperwork that you see with shipments and the invoice you receive. Customers can still send their Purchase Orders in the same way (EDI, FAX, e-mail, and Spirit Web), we’ll still be responding to quotes from all sources and providing the same delivery service (In stock orders shipped one day after received), and we’ll just be using a different internal system!
We’ll be sharing samples of the changed documents (packing slips and invoices) in the near future, but if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact your Customer Service Representatives at 1-866-526-8929. And remember -- change is good!
Gold Star Team
We hear a lot about implementing SAP, but what does that mean to the end user? SAP will change the way we have done business in the past. SAP links our company organizations with many accounting, engineering and logistical tools. In essence, SAP and the changes this new software creates will cause end users to evaluate their current processes. To help them with this change, the Project Northstar "Gold Star" team was formed.
The team, managed by Mike Miller, is available to all end users for such problem resolution affecting timekeeping (CATS), our new paperless factory (EWI), and other critical processes. While the end user at Spirit AeroSystems will see many changes, our external customer will have a seamless transition. Since our first "Go-Live" date on January 26 with SAP, many of the problems associated with a new implementation have been resolved by the Gold Star team.
End users may contact a Site Key User or Gold Star team member for assistance.
