Spirit AeroSystems Employment

What about the work experience itself?
When you’re employed at Spirit, you may be assigned to any one of the shifts within our three-shift system. So many different opportunities exist here, you could find yourself working with a variety of materials in many different areas of aircraft production and support functions.

Whatever your job at Spirit, you'll be part of a team-based, accountable approach to work. Essentially, that means that your efforts will not be lost in the shuffle. Good, hard, smart work is rewarded. At Spirit, we are constantly looking for ways to work more efficiently and effectively in an effort to achieve greater quality and quantity with less effort. It’s called “lean” practices because the fat is removed from what we do. It’s what keeps us competitive in the world market. That same effort includes training that is both focused and ongoing.

On the technical side, our investment in research and development forms the foundation for the kind of world-class technology that sets us apart from our competitors. And that’s what turns prospects into customers and, along with our kept promises, it’s what keeps those customers coming back.

What keeps our employees coming back is the safe, healthy environment we promote here at Spirit. It’s among our highest priorities. Typically, many of our work areas constitute high-noise environments. Within those same areas, a variety of materials are machined and handled. The risks are manageable when the rules are followed. That’s why eye and hearing protection are mandatory in some areas. In simple terms, our workforce is given the tools and support to perform their jobs within a safe working environment.
