Hello again!

I'm Carolyn Harms, Vice President and General Manager for Spirit's Aftermarket Customer Support (ACS) Business Unit. I’m excited to announce the Grand Opening of our third Spirit Repair Station, “Taikoo Spirit AeroSystems Composite Company Ltd.” in Jinjiang, China. The new facility, which is in the process of receiving its Civil Aviation Administration of China certification (CAAC), will perform composite repairs and overhauls with a focus on engine nacelles and components for Boeing 737NG and 777 aircraft. After announcing our plans last year to enter into a joint venture with HAECO/TAECO, we believe that this global expansion takes Spirit another step closer toward the execution of our aftermarket growth strategy and long term value creation for our international customers.

Spirit has had a presence in the Asian MRO market since entering into an agreement with Cathay Pacific for overhaul of its 777 Rolls-Royce Thrust Reverser fleet in February of 2008. We teamed with Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. (HAECO) to support Cathay and we've completed 17 units since the program start. In order to establish a long-term presence in the region, Spirit teamed with HAECO to develop Taikoo Spirit AeroSystems Composite Company Ltd. in Jinjiang, China. The facility is approximately 130,000 square feet, and will provide an extension of our Wichita repair capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. Taikoo Spirit includes Cathay Pacific and China Airlines among its other investors.

Even in tough economic times -- maybe I should say especially in tough economic times -- we have to prepare for the future. In Spirit's business, including MRO, that means laying the foundation to grow our business globally. Thank you for the opportunity to give you a brief glimpse into our ACS MRO business.
