Our Aerostructures business units are located in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma, and at Prestwick and Samlesbury in the UK.

Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma

The manufacturing facility in Tulsa fabricates Boeing 737NG, 747-8, 777 and 787 composite and metallic wing components as well as metallic and composite floor beams for the 777 and 787 programs. Military program involvement includes the E3 AWACS radomes, engine cowls and rudders. In 2008, Spirit announced that the AeroStructures Business Unit was selected to design, manufacture, and integrate wings for two new Gulfstream offerings, the G250 and G650. The manufacturing facility in McAlester supports both the Wichita and Tulsa sites with machined parts and sub-assemblies. The Tulsa and McAlester sites provide world-class structures and service for customers across the globe.

Kinston, North Carolina

Spirit AeroSystems broke ground Sept. 15, 2008, on a new facility being constructed in the Lenoir County, North Carolina, near Kinston. The facility will accommodate work including major structures for the Airbus A350 XWB.

Prestwick and Samlesbury

Our European Aerostructures operations are based in Prestwick, Scotland, and Samlesbury, England. Large wing structures for the Boeing 767 and 777 and the Airbus A320 and A380 make up a significant portion of UK product, along with other packages produced for the Hawker Beechcraft 850XP Business Jet.

With the fixed leading edges for the 767 and 777 being made at our UK facilities, the Boeing product profile of our European operation perfectly complements that of our Tulsa unit.

Malaysia

Spirit is planning a manufacturing facility near Kuala Lumpur that is scheduled to open in early 2009. Spirit Aerosystems (Europe) Limited, the European division of Spirit Aerosystems, announced plans for the facility in November 2007
