Spirit AeroSystems is one of the world's largest independent suppliers of commercial airplane assemblies and components. Our core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components. Additionally, Spirit provides aftermarket customer support services, including spare parts, maintenance/repair/overhaul, and fleet support services in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Spirit has engineering, manufacturing, and assembly operations at its headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, and in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma; Chanute, Kansas; Kinston, North Carolina; Prestwick, Scotland; Preston, England; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Saint-Nazaire, France. We have joint venture locations in Moscow for engineering design and in Jinjiang, China, for aftermarket services. Current employment is at approximately 15,750 worldwide, with a large variety of ethnic groups represented.
Customers for our wide range of assemblies and parts include large airplane builders Boeing and Airbus; regional jet builders Bombardier, Gulfstream, and Mitsubishi; and defense-related customers Sikorsky and the U.S. government. Aftermarket service customers include numerous airlines such as Scandinavian Airlines, Air Europa, and Japan-based Skymark.
Approximately 1,300 suppliers from 32 countries support the Spirit operations around the world.
