  1. Why are there not more part numbers in the catalog?

The FAA must give PMA to each part number before it can be listed in our catalog. Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is in the process of submitting thousands of OEM approved part numbers to the FAA. The catalog displays the current list of PMA part numbers and will be updated regularly. The Spares Order desk also has the most recent list. Please contact them at (866) 526-8929.

  1. What is Part Manufacturing Approval (PMA)?

"PMA" is Part Manufacturing Approval. This approval means that the original equipment manufacturer and the FAA have granted part manufacturing approval to Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. PMA is required for the design and fabrication of replacement parts or modification parts, which includes materials, parts, and processes. Our PMA license references can be found on the FAA Website.

  1. How do I get a copy of the catalog?

As a customer of Spirit AeroSystems, you can access The Spirit Portal (TSP) to view the catalog online and download the information from our catalog. To gain access to The Spirit Portal, your company must have a customer code with Spirit AeroSystems, and the individual user(s) must be assigned an account. E-mail us at spares@spiritaero.com to set up your access to The Spirit Portal.

  1. What is The Spirit Portal?

The Spirit Portal (TSP) is a secure website for sharing information with Spirit AeroSystems' customers and suppliers. Through the portal, we offer an online version of our catalog which includes daily updates of stock quantity. Additionally, you can submit and track requests for quotes (RFQs) and orders. The ordering capability allows you to submit orders based on your internal purchase orders, receive confirmations of requested demand dates and quantities, and receive online visibility of shipping information. Contact Dian Robinson at spares@spiritaero.com to set up your access to The Spirit Portal. After receiving access, you can navigate to The Spirit Portal using the secure logon link located at the top right corner of our Spirit AeroSystems' Aftermarket Customer Support web site.

  1. What if the part number I am looking for is not in Spirit AeroSystems' catalog?

You may still submit a Request for Quote or call our Spares Order desk at (866) 526-8929 to check whether the part number in question is to be offered for sale in the future. If not, we will ask a few questions to see if it's possible to add it to our list of part numbers for which we will seek PMA.

  1. How do I request a quote for a Part Manufacturing Approval (PMA) part number?

There are four options for requesting a quote from Spirit AeroSystems. Please use The Spirit Portal if you already have access.

  • The Spirit Portal (TSP) - If you have access to the Spirit AeroSystems' eCommerce website, you can check the online catalog for stock quantity and price, or submit a request for quote (RFQ). If you submit a request for quote (RFQ) from the Spirit portal, you will be able to view the quote response online in your queue. Responses will contain price, estimated flow time, and will reference our terms and conditions.
     
  • Public Web site - Use the Request for Quote link on the left side of the Aftermarket Customer Support web site and complete the information requested on the web form (part number, quantity, company name, your name, and e-mail address) and use the text box for special instructions. (Note: If you save the contact information, for your next quote you will only need to complete the part number and quantity.) After you are satisfied with the information, simply click on the send request button at the bottom of the form. You will receive an email acknowledgement that we received you request, and you will be contacted by a Spirit AeroSystems' representative within 48 hours. Quote responses will contain price, estimated flow time, and will reference our terms and conditions. An order form will be included for your convenience.
     
  • Phone - The Spirit AeroSystems' Spares Order desk is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you prefer to call in a request for quote, one of our representatives will take the information over the phone at (866) 526-8929 and get your request for quote started. You will receive our quote response by email. All responses will contain price, estimated flow time, and will reference our terms and conditions. An order form will be included for your convenience.
     
  • Spec 2000 - Spirit AeroSystems is prepared to receive quote requests via Spec 2000. Please contact Dian Robinson at spares@spiritaero.com to coordinate the details of setting up the EDI RFQ transmission activity.

  1. How do I order from Spirit AeroSystems?

Three options exist for placing an order with Spirit AeroSystems:

  • The Spirit Portal (TSP) - The Spirit Portal gives you the capability to search the catalog online, and submit an order online based on your company's purchase order. You can track your order and receive confirmation of the requested date and quantity plus receive real time visibility of shipping information.
     
  • Fax or Phone - You can place an order by faxing an order form or purchase order. You can fax the order to us at (866) 526-8970 or phone in the order at (866) 526-8929
     
  • Spec 2000 - Spirit AeroSystems is prepared to receive orders via Spec 2000. Please e-mail us at spares@spiritaero.com to coordinate the details of setting up the EDI PO transmission activity.

If you have never ordered from Spirit AeroSystems before, we will need to set up a customer code for your company. To do that, we will need some basic information about your company (please see our Customer Code Request form). Once we have a customer code set up, we will enter your order into our system.

  1. What is the turnaround time once I have made my order?

Once we have received your purchase order, for parts in stock, we will ship within 24 hours.

  1. How do I arrange for payment of an order?

Spirit AeroSystems has two options for payment,

  • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - Detailed instructions will be provided upon request. For more information please contact our Credit Department at (866) 526-8929.
     
  • Approved Credit - If your company has received an approved credit limit, we will invoice you at the time of shipment. To apply for credit, complete the Credit Application Form on this website, then follow the instructions for  faxing it to our Credit Department.   1. What are the terms and conditions governing a Part Manufacturing Approval (PMA) spares order with Spirit AeroSystems?

Standard Terms and Conditions are posted on our website. There may be circumstances that would require additional terms and conditions to be imposed (such as foreign procurement or shipment, etc.). This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. If you have exceptions to our standard terms and conditions, please contact our Contracts Department at (866) 526-8929.

  1. When I order from Spirit AeroSystems, what kind of parts will I receive?

All parts quoted are in new and in an airworthy condition. A Certificate of Conformance is provided on the shipper for all part numbers. An Authorized Release Certificate FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthiness Approval Tag is available upon request.
