Spirit AeroSystems is responsible for manufacturing and delivering wing systems, structures and components for a wide range of aircraft -- from the largest passenger airliner in the world, the Airbus A380 with its 261-foot-10-inch (79.8 meter) wingspan, to the Gulfstream G280, with its 63-foot (19.2 meter) wingspan.
Spirit develops, produces and markets wings and wing components, including flight control surfaces and other structural parts, primarily to OEMs. Related spares and MRO services are also offered.
Many of the wing components, flight control surfaces and other structural parts that Spirit delivers are manufactured at our facilities in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma, and Prestwick, Scotland. A manufacturing facility in Subang, Malaysia, produces wing composite subassemblies. A factory opened in 2010 in Kinston, North Carolina, will manufacture the composite front spar for the Airbus A350XWB.
Spirit AeroSystems (Europe) Limited is the largest airframe supplier to Airbus and a key supplier of major wing structures with “life of program” contracts. Our Prestwick operation delivers products across the entire Airbus range, including the new A380 aircraft.
Spirit AeroSystems in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a major supplier of wing components to four Boeing commercial models – Next-Generation 737, 747, 777 and 787. The leading edge slats for the 777 are made on a moving line in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, factory.
